THE MAIN MEN

Apart from the bees who obviously do the lion’s share of the work, the quality of this honey is down to the two men who do the rest.  They work tirelessly all year round to produce this amazing  honey. Our USP is largely attributable to them; their knowledge, skills, connections and hard graft.

Jonty is one of the largest apple producers in Hawke’s Bay and farms as part of a close knit family business, he is extremely experienced, well respected and an excellent farmer. He only occasionally stops working.

Jeff has 25 years beekeeping experienced with one of NZ’s leading honey manufacturers, he is a  highly respected and widely known beekeeper in the area and extremely well liked by all who know him.  He is a walking encyclopedia on bees.

They met many years ago whilst pollinating the apples in the Moffett orchards and a partnership based on mutual respect and a shared love of the land and beekeeping grew. They bring different skillsets to the party and I feel privileged to be working with them and bringing their very special honey to the UK.

Between them there is very little that they don’t know about bees, beekeeping,  honey and Hawke’s Bay. Their excellent relationships with landowners mean that they have access to the very best sites for the hives which in turn makes the quality of the honey unique.

They have made a commitment to take their honey business further and we reap the benefits of that. The business will remain on a scale that ensures good supply but does not compromise the welfare of the bees or the quality of the honey produced.
