We still have lots of honey... Since visiting our We still have lots of honey... Since visiting our wonderful Manuka honeybees and beekeepers in New Zealand in January, you may have heard of the devastating cyclone that hit the Hawke's Bay region where our bees live. Shortly after we left, Cyclone Gabrielle delivered what Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said was “the most severe weather event this century”. Our hearts and thoughts are with all those affected.

It's been estimated that up to 6,000 beehives have been washed away or damaged in the floods but the good news is... our incredible beekeepers are safe, our bees are high in the hills and whilst they can't be reached at the moment due to collapsed bridges, they have thankfully survived and seem unaffected.

We are also delighted to report that we have plenty of Manuka honey here in the UK. Our stocks are reassuringly high and in these difficult circumstances, the best thing we can do to help our beekeepers is to keep buying Manuka honey whilst the routes to the hills are rebuilt and the bees can be carefully tended to again.

Photo: This is me, just a few weeks ago, with our three incredible beekeepers, Jonty, Jeff and Rod. The orchards behind us were completely flooded and all the trees are now dead.

Meanwhile, we’d love to hear from you if can you recommend a local grocer, deli or favourite food outlet where you would like to see our Manuka Honey stocked?

Also, Easter is less than 3 weeks away if you’re looking for a healthy alternative to chocolate eggs.
